Hot-Pluggable and Bus-Powered

UB MADI hot-plugs instantly. Audio flows within 4 seconds of plugging in. No need to restart, even if you lose connection during recording or playback. UB MADI runs solely on USB power, handling signals over 100m of cable with just a USB connection.

UB MADI is small, light, and robust. It uses a strong USB-B type socket and standard cabling. Reliable and portable, it takes up minimal space—ideal for high-performance location recording or virtual sound checks.

48 Channels

UB MADI delivers 48 channels with zero compromise on latency, quality, or reliability. The SD7-derived FPGA and 500MHz dual-core CPU, combined with USB 2.0, enable 48 channels of IO simultaneously (full-duplex at 48KHz only).

Low Latency

UB MADI’s highly tuned USB processor and driver achieve industry-leading low latency over USB 2.0, overcoming USB’s multi-device, switching nature.

Stability

UB MADI ensures full digital end-to-end performance, independent of USB’s data clock for timing. Jitter is not an issue. It recovers all audio data, with input clock tolerance far exceeding the AES minimum specification.

Computer Compatibility

UB MADI works with virtually all Windows or Mac computers with an Intel® Core™ Duo or better CPU. Recording or playing back 48 channels of 24-bit audio demands a high-performance hard disk or solid-state drive with minimal fragmentation. DiGiCo offers a high-performance, ultra-low-latency driver for both Windows and Mac.

Supported Audio and Clock Formats

UB MADI receives the first 48 channels of any AES10-compliant MADI stream and coaxial AES3 (AES/EBU) stereo audio.
